Canberra, October 20, 2023. The 155th anniversary of the Anthem of Bayamo was celebrated this afternoon at the Cuban Embassy in Australia. During the activity held at the headquarters of the Cuban diplomatic mission, the Ambassador of Cuba in the southern country unveiled a copy of the oldest known document of the National Anthem to deposit it next to the national flag at the headquarters.
Friends of Cuba in the city of Canberra, as well as Ambassadors from different countries participated in the activity, where they also sang the notes of the National Anthem of Cuba and listened to versions of the National Choir and the Work of Homage created by the Camareta Romeu to the patriotic symbol.
The occasion was propitious for the Cuban diplomat to make a brief review of the history of the Cuban Anthem and to highlight the values of identity that it reflects.
