From June 23 to 25, the University of Matanzas will become a hub for educational thought with the celebration of the 15th Symposium on Education and Culture. The event aims to bring together academics, researchers, teachers, and graduate students to reflect on and exchange experiences regarding the challenges and transformations shaping today’s educational landscape.
The symposium’s in-person and virtual sessions will focus on several highly relevant topics, including the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for inclusive and quality education, the relationship between education and sustainable local development, teacher training, and the impact of emerging technologies on teaching, with special attention to digital competencies and the integration of Artificial Intelligence.
As part of its program, the symposium will feature a series of special activities of significant scientific and academic interest, including panels with international experts and scientific debates exploring the frontiers of pedagogical knowledge. These activities include:

An international panel of experts will discuss the multifaceted impact of AI, exploring both its potential applications and the ethical and practical dilemmas it presents in the fields of science and professional training.
Roundtable: Neuroeducation in the Pedagogical Context – Opportunities and Challenges for Teaching Practice
Internationally recognized specialists will examine how advances in neuroscience can enrich educational practices, improving teaching and learning processes through a deeper understanding of how the brain works.
Scientific Debate: New Ways of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education
This session will be led by Ileana Rosa Domínguez García from the Enrique José Varona University of Pedagogical Sciences. Her presentation will provide a space for critical and forward-looking discussion on innovative methodologies that are transforming higher education.
