170 Undocumented Migrants Return to Cuba from the U.S.

In compliance with bilateral migration agreements, 170 undocumented migrants returned to Cuba from the United States on Monday, February 9.

In the first repatriation operation of the year from the U.S., carried out at José Martí International Airport, 153 men and 17 women arrived.

Three of these individuals were taken into custody for questioning as suspected criminals who had committed crimes before leaving the country.

Cuban authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to regular, safe, and orderly migration, while reiterating the dangers and risks to life posed by illegal departures from the country.
