Paris, Nov 24 (Prensa Latina) The 19th edition of the European Continental Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba will culminate today in this capital with a declaration and new proposals of support for the island in the face of US hostility.
At the headquarters of the French Communist Party (PCF) and after a Saturday day of work in commissions, the 300 or so delegates from some thirty countries will review the activities analysed with a view to adopting the final declaration and the Paris action plan.The day before, the participants discussed the fight against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by Washington, its intensification and consequences, the dissemination of the Cuban reality and the work on social networks in the face of manipulation and disinformation, as well as economic cooperation as a key tool to accompany the Antillean nation in the face of the devastating effects of the siege that has been in force for more than six decades.
In addition to condemning the blockade, the document issued by the forum is expected to call for the island's exclusion from the unilateral list of countries that the United States considers to be sponsors of terrorism, a measure with severe financial consequences.The 19th European Continental Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba will conclude with a public act of support for the Caribbean country and the designation of the next venue for the event.The day before, the president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), Fernando González, expressed his gratitude for the solidarity with his country, acknowledged the welcome of the PCF and urged those present to accompany the resistance of the Cubans with new initiatives that combine political and economic support.
