Pretoria, February 02, 2024.- The Cuban Ambassador to South Africa, Enrique Orta González, participated in the activity held at the Venezuelan Embassy in Pretoria to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Bolivarian Revolution. The diplomat was accompanied by other officials of the Cuban Mission in South Africa.
Members of the Diplomatic Corps accredited to South Africa, comrades of the ANC and the Communist Party, as well as representatives of the Venezuelan Friendship Association were present at the commemoration.
The Cuban Ambassador, in his speech, recalled the close friendship that unites the Venezuelan people with the Cuban people, as well as all the achievements of the Bolivarian Revolution in its 25 years of history. He referred to the sanctions imposed by imperialism on the brotherly people of Venezuela, as well as on the Cuban people, with the sole aim of curbing the development of both countries, symbols of progressive ideas in the region.
He also recalled that Hugo Chávez, leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, was one of the main promoters of the Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas (ALBA), a space for regional integration that defends the ideals of unity for which Martí and Boívar fought in the 19th century.
