The 27th Congress of the Communist Party of Ireland expresses its solidarity and unwavering support for Cuba.

Dublin, April 26, 2026.  Delegates to the 27th Congress of the Communist Party of Ireland today expressed their solidarity and support for the Cuban Revolution.

The Cuban Ambassador to Ireland, Bernardo Guanche Hernández, speaking at the congress, conveyed greetings from the Communist Party of Cuba and expressed gratitude for the solidarity shown by the Communist Party of Ireland.

He explained that his country is living through decisive times and recalled the victory at Playa Girón, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the collapse of the socialist bloc, among other victories.

He also denounced the economic blockade, surgically designed to create shortages capable of damaging and reversing the nation's social development, and the unjust inclusion of Cuba on the list of alleged state sponsors of terrorism.

He pointed out that the executive order issued by the President of the United States on January 29, 2026, constitutes the latest escalation by the U.S. government against Cuba. In practice, he specified, a total blockade of fuel supplies was imposed, which has caused serious harm to the Cuban people.

He reiterated that Cuba poses no threat whatsoever to the United States, its national interests, or the well-being of its citizens, who, moreover, have always been treated with respect and hospitality when their government has allowed them to visit the island.

The Congress will be held later today.
