Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel today recognized the work carried out by the health personnel of this Antillean nation around the world, on the 60th anniversary of that solidarity collaboration.
In his Twitter profile, the president highlighted the pride of having a dedicated force of health workers who have been saving lives for six decades, and sent a warm embrace to the protagonists of that noble feat, especially to the 22,000 collaborators who today carry out their mission in 58 countries.
For his part, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero recalled that after the arrival in Algeria of the first brigade of Cuban doctors in 1963, the history of health collaboration began, in which more than 600,000 specialists from the island have brought health to 165 nations of all latitudes.
All the gratitude, recognition and admiration of our people to the health workers who day after day, in foreign lands, put the name of Cuba on high, Merrero said on the social network.
Likewise, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez recalled the medical collaboration that began in Algeria, which, he said, has left an indelible mark of altruism and dignity around the world.
Congratulations on these #60YearsSavingLives and raising high the humanist, solidarity and internationalist vocation of the Revolution, said the top representative of the island's diplomacy on Twitter.
