The 6th Congress of the Communist Party of Poland strongly condemns the illegal and inhumane economic blockade imposed on Cuba by the United States and demands its abolishment.
The „act” known as Helms-Burton Act which is a part of this blockade, puts the illegal sanctions on companies from third countries, which were conducting their businesses on Cuba. These actions were frequently condemned by the international community, including the United Nations General Assembly, defined as breaking of international law.
Since the year 2019 the blockade has not become relaxed, but became exacerbated. Its consequences during the pandemic crisis, food crisis and energetic crisis were vastly dramatic. Additionally, the US Department of State inscribed Cuba, on the List of State Sponsors of Terrorism. That impedes international financial transactions, issuing visas, also that is a tool to bully concerns from third countries, which are conducting their businesses in Cuba.
The blockade is not only illegal, moreover it is against Human Rights. It restricts citizens of Cuba's right to access to new technology, to movement and to education.
Accompanying these activities is increasing in recent years disinformation campaign against Cuban authorities and financed by the American government.
The objective of the American blockade is to interfere in the internal issues of the independent country and to destroy the achievements of socialist revolution in Cuba.
The congress of Communist Party of Poland expresses solidarity with the Cuban People and wishes them further development of the revolutionary achievements and to overcome the illegal American blockade.
