ACFS celebrates July 26th in different Australian cities

Canberra, 27 July 2025 - The Australian-Cuban Friendship Society (ACFS) organized a series of events in several Australian cities to commemorate the 72nd anniversary of Cuba's National Rebellion Day, recalling the storming of the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Barracks in 1953, a founding moment of the Cuban Revolution.

The ACFS members, along with the Cuban community living in Australia and friends of Cuba, gathered to pay tribute to the Cuban people's struggle for justice, sovereignty and international solidarity, in Adelaide, Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth. Events included educational talks on the history of the Cuban Revolution, documentary film screenings, Cuban music and dance performances, and cultural activities highlighting the island's rich cultural heritage.

During the celebrations, the ACFS organizers highlighted the global impact of the Cuban Revolution, especially in areas such as public health and education, and reiterated their support for the international campaign against the economic blockade imposed on Cuba by the United States. Attendees also expressed their solidarity with the Cuban people and their admiration for their resilience in the face of current challenges.
