The affection and admiration for Cuba from the island of Nevis
Basseterre, October 3, 2024- Following the work program organised for the visit to this Federation of Tamara Armenteros Alcee, an ICAP official, this Thursday morning she was received in Nevis by the main authorities of that island, accompanied by Ambassador David Rivero Pérez.
The Premier of this island, Honourable Mark Brantley, offered a warm welcome to the visitors, demonstrating once again his affection and admiration for the people of Cuba. His rejection of the blockade policy against the Caribbean nation was exposed during the exchange, an opportunity that also allowed visitors to express their gratitude for the historical support of this sister nation and the willingness of its government to continue strengthening existing links.
At another point during the visit, they were received at the Ministry of Health by the Permanent Secretary, Shelisa Martin Clarke, hospitable and friendly, as is always projected when it comes to Cuba. During the exchange, the significant work of the Cuban Health collaborators residing in Nevis was addressed, along with the gratitude of the hosts for the cooperation in the field of Education and Health. In this sense, the mutual interest in amplifying the existing cooperation was expressed.
The visit to the Alexandra General Hospital and the Cuban professionals who work there, was the culmination of the morning program. As it happened yesterday afternoon in St. Kitts, the members of the Cuban Medical Brigade were able to meet and exchange ideas and work experiences. Armenteros Alcee reiterated her recognition and admiration for the important humanitarian work they carry out, while exhorting them to continue working to preserve the prestige achieved among the inhabitants of the Twin Islands.
