All the actors of the economy in Cuba for "a digital society".

Cuba is betting today that in the development of software and the transformation of society towards a greater digitalization all the actors of the economy will participate, said the Minister of Communications, Mayra Arevich.

In an exclusive interview with Prensa Latina in the framework of the International Fair Informática 2024, the Minister highlighted the presence in this event of some 15 small and medium-sized Cuban companies that will present their advances in the Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs) sector.

"The software industry in our country has to be developed with the participation of all the actors of the economy and this will allow a greater participation in the advancement of ICTs, of the talent of young computer scientists trained by the Revolution. In this way, professionals from all sectors contribute to the digital transformation of the country", reaffirmed Arevich.

He also pointed out that the presence of foreign companies and delegates at the 19th edition of the Convention and Fair Informática 2024 will allow Cuba to make alliances, establish agreements and exchange knowledge.

The minister reaffirmed that the great event is an example of how the promotion of ICTs is currently a pillar of government management in Cuba and transversalizes each of the sectors of society.

He highlighted the presence at the Fair, which takes place at the Pabexpo venue in the capital of the Caribbean island, of more than 60 Cuban companies and some 15 from other countries that showcase their IT solutions in 49 stands.

He also said that those attending this exhibition space will be able to learn about the work carried out by the nation in the promotion of the software industry, computer applications, the computerization of processes in areas such as postal mail, citizen procedures, the management of the Ministry of Justice and citizen portals.

"Also occupying a privileged place in our national stand are the results of electronic commerce.
