The Ambassador of Cuba to Dominica and the Head of the UNDP Office for the Eastern Caribbean visit a school under reconstruction by cuban collaborators.

Roseau, October 8, 2019. Organized by the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development of the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica, a visit was made today to the facilities of the Primary School located in the town of Salisbury, Dominica. This educational center for primary education is one of the five of that type in which members of the Cuban construction collaborators brigade have worked, working in the reconstruction of the country after the passage of Hurricane Maria. In this center, reconstruction has been carried out under a collaborative program with UNDP.

Participated in the visit Ulises Arranz Fernández, Ambassador of Cuba in Dominica; Magdy Martínez-Soliman, Permanent Representative of the Office of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) and other officials of that UN office in Dominica; as well as Ms. Chandler Hyacinth, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development of Dominica, along with other officials of that Ministry. During the visit it was possible to verify the quality of the work done by the Cuban builders, which was praised by the representatives of the UNDP and the Ministry of Dominican education.

After the visit, the cuban diplomat received at the Embassy, the UNDP Representative for the OECS, who thanked the Ambassador for Cuba's participation in the UNDP cooperation programs. On that subject, both officials exchanged on future possibilities, based on the needs and requests that the Dominican government can make.
