Yesterday afternoon, the Ambassador of Cuba in South Africa, Rodolfo Benítez Verson, held a meeting with the General Secretary of the Communist Party of South Africa, Comrade Blade Nzimande.
The opportunity was propitious to reiterate the gratitude of the Cuban people and government for the firm support of the Communist Party of this brother country to the Cuban Revolution and its permanent solidarity with our people in the battle against the illegal blockade imposed by the Government of the United States.
The South African leader, for his part, recalled the intense bonds of friendship that unite our peoples and highlighted the role of Cuba in the liberation of many peoples of Africa, particularly in the independence of South Africa.
He added that although physically distant, we are very close, so the South African Communist Party will continue to promote solidarity with Cuba and its Revolution, "because that Revolution does not belong only to Cuba but to all the peoples who fight for a better world," he emphasized the leader.
The meeting also served to review the challenges faced by leftist and progressive forces in the contemporary world, and coordinate joint actions during 2018.
