Tehran, December 1, 2020. The Ambassador of Cuba to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Alexis Bandrich Vega, held a cordial and fruitful meeting with the Deputy Minister for International Relations of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education of Iran, Dr. Mohsen Asadi Lari, who also serves as Secretary of the Cuba-Iran Intergovernmental Commission.
During the event, which took place at the headquarters of the Iranian Ministry of Health, both agreed on the importance of promoting and strengthening bilateral cooperation relations, especially in the face of COVID-19. Cuba and Iran resist cruel and genocidal sanctions by the United States government, viciously increased during the current pandemic. Such sanctions considerably affect the national efforts to combat it and all areas of the life of our peoples, without having managed to wrest a single concession, nor that we give up a millimeter in the will to be sovereign and independent countries.
