Ambassador of Cuba in Ireland holds meeting with Deputy Thomas Pringle, President of the Irish Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Cuba.

Dublin, February 21, 2017, the Ambassador of Cuba in Ireland,  Mr. Hugo René Ramos Milanés,  held a meeting at Parliament's headquarters with Deputy Thomas Pringle, President of the Irish Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Cuba and Deputy Maureen O'Sullivan, member of that group and Vice President of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Chamber.

In the meeting, which took place in the cordial atmosphere that characterizes the relations between both countries, impressions were exchanged on the additional actions that could be undertaken from the respective Parliaments to contribute to reinforce and expand bilateral ties in the most varied spheres within the framework provides the bilateral intergovernmental agreement signed in Havana in February 2017, during the official visit of the Irish President Michael D. Higgins.

The Cuban Ambassador welcomed the invitation extended to him to meet all the members of the friendship group in the near future and be able to share with them the vision on how to expand bilateral relations. The occasion was also used to exchange on the electoral process in which the Cuban people are involved and which will lead to the next election of new members of the National Assembly, its presidency, and the highest leadership of the Cuban State.
