Kingstown, April 15, 2024. - The Cuban Ambassador, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry, was received this morning by Dr. Vaughn Lewis, CEO of VINLEC, the Electricity Company of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
The meeting was favourable to addressing issues of common interest and analyzing the possibilities of immediate collaboration, in an area in which almost for 20 years there has not been joint projects between the two countries, whose historic cooperation has focused primarily on health and education.
It is expected that at least 5 Cuban engineers will travel to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in the coming period, to start working in joint projects.
VINLEC offers services to 98% of the Vincentian population. Electricity is mostly generated from hydroelectric and, to a lesser extent, solar sources. (Cubaminrex-EmbaCuba Saint Vincent and the Grenadines)
