Melbourne, July 31, 2023. The Ambassador of Cuba visited the Headquarters of the Maritime Union of Australia (MUA) in Victoria. During this visit, the diplomat held a meeting with representatives of such an organization and took the opportunity to thank the support of the Australian trade union organization for the Cuban Revolution and its active participation in the Solidarity movement with Cuba.
Particularly significant was the participation of young people like Iván Barreto and Marianniz Díaz, both professionals from ICAP and CIM respectively, who were able to discuss with the interlocutors the main challenges that Cuban society faces today, particularly youth, as well as the importance of the support received from the solidarity movement.
Emotional words were spoken during the exchange. The representatives of the organization spoke out against the Economic, Commercial and Financial Blockade against Cuba and expressed their willingness to continue strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation between the Australian Union and the Cuban trade union organizations and with the people of Cuba in general.
