Ambassador of Cuba in Mongolia meets the Director General of the Mongolian National News Agency MONTSAME

The Ambassador of Cuba in Mongolia, Jorge Ferrer, met with the Director General of the National News Agency of Mongolia MONTSAME and Advisor to the President for Public Diplomacy and Communication Policy, Mr. Amartuvshin Gombosuren.

Both parties discussed the implementation of the Cooperation Agreement between MONTSAME and the Latin American Press Agency (Prensa Latina), signed in Ulaanbaatar, the Mongolian capital, in February 2018.

The two parties exchanged information about both news agencies and their services. They agreed on the role of the cooperation agreement for mutual understanding and the development of relations between the two peoples.

The Cuban Ambassador recalled that Prensa Latina is a Latin American Information Agency founded in Havana in June 1959, at the initiative of Fidel Castro and Commander Ernesto Che Guevara. It has permanent correspondents and collaborators in dozens of countries on all continents and covers international events, especially in Latin America and the Caribbean and Cuba.

He also recalled that a delegation from Prensa Latina, headed by its president, Luis Enrique González, made an official visit to Mongolia in September 2019.

The Mongolian agency MONTSAME was founded in 1921, 101 years ago, and has correspondents in Ulaanbaatar, in 21 provinces of Mongolia, Beijing and Moscow.
