Ambassador of Cuba in Mongolia meets with the Secretary of Foreign Relations of the Mongolian People's Party

The Cuban ambassador in Mongolia, Jorge Ferrer, met today with Mr. O.Batnairamdal, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the ruling Mongolian People's Party (MPP).

Both parties discussed the historical ties and friendship between both parties and peoples, as well as the possibilities of continuing to develop them.

The Cuban diplomat congratulated the party and the government of Mongolia for the successful economic results of 2023 and its positives effects on the government's social policies and the income level of the population. He reiterated the gratitude of the Party, the Government and the people of Cuba for the solidarity support of Mongolia in the current difficult circumstances.

Likewise, the Ambassador updated him on the current situation in Cuba. In particular, he referred to the economic difficulties, fundamentally due to the economic blockade and the arbitrary inclusion of Cuba in the US unilateral list of States that allegedly sponsor terrorism.

He explained that these measures also affect the relations of Mongolian companies and citizens with Cuba, due to the extraterritorial effects of the US blockade, in violation of the sovereignty of third States.

The Mongolian party leader explained the new mixed system of elections for Members of the new expanded Parliament that will take place in June. He also reiterated his gratitude to Cuba for the increase in scholarships and his country's sympathies and solidarity with the island.

The Ambassador wished the MPP Party and the Mongolian people success in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
