The Ambassador of Cuba to Mongolia meets with students who received scholarships to study at Cuban universities in 2025

The ambassador of Cuba to Mongolia, Jorge Ferrer, meets at his diplomatic mission with outstanding Mongolian students who will study at Cuban universities in 2025, who were accompanied by some relatives.

The ambassador congratulated them on obtaining the scholarships for their good academic results; He called them to study and wished them success in their studies.

The Cuban diplomat updated them on the situation in Cuba, the negative impacts of the US blockade against the island, the practical nature of teaching medical sciences and the achievements of the Cuban biopharmaceutical industry.

The Ambassador explained them that there are numerous unique and unrepeatable reasons why medical science studies in Cuba are among the best in the world.

He underlined that in 2024 the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM) of Cuba and its study program were internationally accredited for 6 years by the Union of Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean (UDUALC). 

The diplomat recalled that medical studies in Cuba are based on the idea of ​​our National Hero, José Martí, to combine theory with practice and from the first years of study, students are in direct contact with patients.

He also mentioned that medical students in Cuba have comprehensive academic and practical training. During their studies they rotate through the main medical specialties: internal medicine, pediatrics, gynecology and surgery.

Four  young people will study medicine, as part of Cuba's solidarity program of free scholarships to developing countries that since 1963 has graduated some 140 Mongolian in medicine,  estomatology, engineering and other professions.
