The Ambassador of Cuba in Mongolia met with the Vice Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry

The ambassador of Cuba in Mongolia. Jorge Ferrer met with the Vice Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, H.E. Mr. Gankhuleg Munguntsog. The Director of the Cooperation Department, Mr. E. Anar and other official were also present.

They talked on the agricultural challenges of both countries and the possibilities of mutually beneficial commercial and cooperation relations to deal with some of the pests and diseases affecting the Mongolian agricultural sector.

The Ambassador brief them on the Biotechnology industry in Cuba and some of its flagship bioproducts, such as animal vaccines, biofertilizers, biostimulants and biopesticides, useful for organic agriculture and environmental protection.

The Ambassador referred to results of the Cuban biological rodenticide – BIORAT that specifically only act against the rodents without affecting human beings or other animals, its effective in all cases, easy to apply and biodegradable.  It also reduces the costs of application programs as two applications per year are enough to control the rodent pest and it does not generate resistance or cause rejection by rodents.

The Diplomat of Cuba also mentioned STABILAK, a Cuban natural product, used in various countries to maintain the quality of raw and fresh milk of different animals between 8 to 30 hours and at temperatures between 20 and 34 degrees Celsius.

The agreed in some steps to try to develop the bilateral cooperation in agriculture and cattle.
