The Ambassador of Cuba to Mongolia, Jorge Ferrer, attended today the opening of the 2025 Spring Session of the State Great Khural (Parliament). The Speaker of Parliament, Mr. D. Amarbayasgalan, delivered the opening speech.
The ceremony was atended, among others, by the Mongolian Prime Minister, members of the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court, heads of entities appointed by that body, as well as foreign Ambassadors and representatives of international organizations.
The Speaker of Parliament detailed the main issues that will be the focus of parliamentary debates and legislative tasks during this session.
He said that during the ordinary spring session, the conditions and causes of the problems facing society will be examined in detail, and solutions to the fundamental problems will be expected.
He mentioned, among other things, creating the legal basis for the implementation of mega-development projects and fully supporting the government in accelerating the country's progress; laying the groundwork for a people-centered legal policy through amendments to the Legislation Law; discussing and resolving bills that support fair market competition between large and small businesses; legal reform of the energy sector; and reforming the tax legislation.
The spring ordinary session will also discuss and approve important budgetary and financial legislation, including Mongolia's 2024 performance budget, the 2026 budget framework statement, the development plan, the 2027-2028 budget projection, and the 2026-2028 Government Debt Management Strategy Document.
