Ambassador of Cuba in Mongolia pay a courtesy visit to the Foreign Minister, H.E. Mrs. B. Battsetseg

Ulan Bator, December 24, 2021. The new Cuban ambassador to Mongolia, Jorge Ferrer Rodriguez, paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mrs. BATTSETSEG BATMUNKH, at the Ministry´s headquarters, on the afternoon of December 24, as part of his activities following the recent presentation of his Credentials.

At the meeting, which took place in a fraternal atmosphere, in correspondence with the friendly nature of the relations between both nations, based on mutual respect and cooperation for the benefit of both peoples, they exchanged views on issues of common interest on the bilateral and international agenda. .

The Ambassador conveyed to the Foreign Minister the greetings of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrílla and reiterated Cuba's gratitude for the historic position of Mongolia in support of the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly that calls for ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States government against Cuba.

The Foreign Minister highlighted the importance that Cuba was the first country in America to establish diplomatic relations with her country and the only one from Latin America and the Caribbean that has an embassy in Ulaanbaatar. She also thanked the granting of scholarships to Mongolian students for the training of qualified professionals, who contribute to the development of the country.

Both expressed their satisfaction for the fluid consultation of the two countries in the United Nations, its specialized agencies and other international organizations and their interest in strengthening it in the future.

The two parties agreed on the willingness to continue expanding bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields, among others, in education, health, agriculture and tourism.
