Kingstown, 15 October 2024. - The head of the Public Service Union of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Elroy Boucher, was received by Ambassador Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry at the headquarters of the Cuban mission in this country.
Boucher, who was accompanied by Nyorkia Cupid, responsible for the youth branch, exchanged with the Cuban diplomat on several issues, like the history and structure of this union, which is one of the largest in the country, as well as about other Vincentian union forces and the possibilities to foster alliances with the Cuban working class.
The ambassador gave details about the Workers' Central Union of Cuba (CTC) and its 19 sectoral unions, their main activities and congresses and the historic parades on the occasion of the International Workers' Day, annually held at the Revolution Square of Havana.
The Public Service Union of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines was founded in 1953, making it the oldest union in the country. It currently has more than 2,000 members. (Cuban Embassy in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines/Cubaminrex).
