Ambassador of Cuba to South Africa meets with DIRCO Chief Director for the Latin America and the Caribbean

Pretoria, September 01, 2022.- The Cuban ambassador to South Africa, Enrique Orta González, was received by the Chief Director for the Latin America and the Caribbean of the South African Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO), Ambassador Msolize Bona, in order to carry out a periodic review of the main issues of bilateral interest.

During the cordial meeting, the excellent level of political relations was confirmed, as well as the need to continue expanding and diversifying economic-commercial cooperation. Both parties recognized the importance of bilateral ties, translated into 28 years of fruitful relations between the two governments.

During the meeting, the recent visit to Havana of the South African Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alvin Botes, was highlighted as a significant step forward in order to strengthen the strategic relations between both Foreign Ministries.
