Mahikeng, October 07, 2022.- The Ambassador of Cuba to South Africa, Enrique Orta González, participated in a solidarity event with Cuba “Cuban Café” organized by the provincial leadership of the South African Communist Party (SACP) in North West. Members of the provincial leadership of the government alliance (African National Congress, ANC and the Congress of South African Trade Unions, COSATU), as well as members of the province's Alumni Association also participated in the event.
Solidarity with the Caribbean island was the center of the event. The speakers condemned the criminal blockade maintained by the United States (US) against Cuba, as well as the US illegal occupation of Cuban territory in Guantanamo.
The Cuban Ambassador showed gratitude for the support and solidarity with Cuba and offered a historical overview of the Revolution, highlighting its achievements, despite suffering the economic damages caused by the unilateral sanctions of the United States.
