Pretoria, April 10, 2023.- The Cuban Ambassador to South Africa, Enrique Orta González, participated in the tribute held today in the South African capital to the communist leader Chris Hani, on the 30th anniversary of his assassination. By laying a wreath where his remains rest, the Ambassador paid heartfelt tribute to one of the greatest revolutionaries in the African continent, as well as one of the most fervent defenders of socialism.
The commemoration was presided over by the General Secretary of the South AfricanCommunist Party (SACP), Solly Mapaila, the Deputy Secretary General of the African National Congress (ANC), Nomvula Mokonyane, the President of the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU), Zingiswa Losi, the Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture of South Africa, Zizi Kodwa, as well as the main authorities of the city and the province.
All the speakers referred in their interventions to the greatness of the anti-apartheid fighter and highlighted his life and work as a tireless revolutionary at the service of the South African people.
