Roseau, Dominica. February 7, 2020. On 6 of February 2020 Ulises Arranz Fernández, Ambassador of Cuba in Dominica, visited Dominica’s newest five-star luxury resort Cabrits Resort & Spa Kempinski Dominica. The ambassador was invited by Xavier Destribats, Chief Operating Officer The Americas and Member of the Management Board of Kempinski Hotels. Mr. Destribats also functions as General Manager of the Gran Hotel Manzana Kempinski, which is in the heart of Havana close to the National Capitol. During his visit Mr. Arranz Fernández was and accompanied by Ms. Miriam Martín Posada, the Cuban consul in Dominica.
Mr. Russel Storey, the resorts General Manager, welcomed the group at the resort and showed them the entire grounds and facilities. Kempinski’s newest portfolio edition opened its doors in October 2019, when it was inaugurated by the Dominican Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit during a festive opening ceremony. Several ministers, the diplomatic corps and renowned personalities of the country joined the grand opening. The resort is located in Portsmouth, the second largest city in Dominica.
Both Mr. Xavier Destribats and Mr. Russel Storey and the ambassador spoke about the future possibility of collaboration, such as having high-quality cuban products in the hotel complex
