Nicosia, 26 March 2024 - The Cuban Ambassador to the Republic of Cyprus, H.E. Mr. Angel Gustavo Suarez Cordero, paid a visit to the Secretary General of the Progressive Workers' Party (AKEL) in Paphos and member of the Central Committee, Mr. Andreas Fakontis.
During the fraternal meeting the Ambassador also met with other members of the secretariat of AKEL, PEO, POGO and EDON in the region and updated them on the current situation of the Caribbean island and particularly on the negative effects of the unjust, inhuman and genocidal blockade imposed by the United States for more than 60 years.
The participants thanked Cuba for its solidarity with Cyprus and raised their voices in support of Cuba and the defence of its social project.
The event was attended by the Secretary General of POGO Pafos, Mrs. Eleni Hadjiandona, the Secretary General of PEO Pafos, Mr. Nikos Savvides and the Secretary General of EDON Pafos Mr. Giorgos Skouris (EmbaCuba Cyprus).
