Association of Cubans Residing in Ireland calls on the international community to support Cuban draft resolution against blockade.

Dublin, October 28, 2025. Today, the United Nations General Assembly begins discussion of the draft resolution presented by Cuba, once again, on the "Need to end the economic, commercial, and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba," which will be put to a vote tomorrow, the 29th.

We are aware of the allegations regarding pressure exerted by the U.S. State Department aimed at avoiding the overwhelming support of the international community, maintained for more than thirty years.

Consequently, the Ernesto Ché Guevara Association of Cubans Residing in Ireland calls on the international community, particularly the Irish government, to stand by the Cuban people, victims of the consequences of a blockade that affects every aspect of their lives, as has been amply demonstrated. This also applies to Cubans living abroad. Nothing and no one can justify such suffering.

At the same time, it expresses its concern and solidarity with Cuba, especially with the eastern provinces of our country, in the face of the serious threat posed by Hurricane Melissa.
