Association of friendship with Cuba in Dominica ratifies its solidarity and condemns the blockade

Roseau, Dominica, January 24th, 2022. The Ambassador of Cuba in Dominica, Ulises Arranz Fernández, held a meeting last night with a representation of the members of the "Dominican-Cuban Friendship Association", at the headquarters of the Embassy in this country. The Cuban Consul Miriam Martín Posada also participated in the meeting. On the Dominican side, Damien Dublin, Frankie Lowe, Severin McKenzie, Gregoire Thomas, John Toussaint, Rachel Andrew, Worrel Sanford, Lloyd Pascal and Oyane Anderson attended; all members of the solidarity movement with Cuba.

The Cuban Ambassador offered information on the current situation of relations between the governments of Cuba and the United States and explained how the US government's policy of blockade against the people of Cuba is intact despite President Biden's election promise to subject it to review. Far from revising that policy, President Biden has maintained the 243 measures taken during the Trump administration to tighten the blockade and has supported the subversive plans developed against Cuba during 2021, which failed due to the conviction of the Cuban people to defend their Revolution.

Several of the members of the Dominican friendship association intervened and contributed ideas to form an action plan to be developed in the next months. They all ratified their solidarity and love for Cuba, and agreed on the need to increase actions to condemn the inhuman, immoral and illegal blockade of the US government against the Cuban people.
