The Division of Identification and Immigration, of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Cuba, reports on the results of consultations received in relation to the issuance of the Cuban passport, under conditions of the new normality due to the control of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the case of the Corriente, it is a document of identity and citizenship that is issued to Cuban citizens residing in the country and abroad who request it, specifies an official note of the agency published today on its website.
It adds that in the case of applications made on behalf of minors under 18 years of age and disabled persons, it is a prerequisite to accompany the authorization of both parents or legal guardians, formalized before a notary public or the corresponding consul.
According to the text, the ways and formalities established by the Law for obtaining the national passport are maintained.
It qualifies as unfounded the isolated rumors that the latter will be charged in MLC and that it will not be granted to minors under 18 years of age.
