Brisbane, June 3, 2023. In the capital of the State of Queensland, this Saturday, the campaign "From Australia to Cuba with Love" began.
Members and supporters from across Australia will ride, walk, run and dance their way to cover 14,886 km between the capital cities of Canberra and Havana. A special launch event was held on Saturday, 3 June to open the campaign, and according to the organizers, the grand finale will be at the National Consultation in Melbourne the last weekend in July.
This tour has its antecedents in 2022, when more than 60 participants from across the country joined this campaign against the U.S. blockade of Cuba and raised more than $25,000 dollars for emergency medical supplies.
Along the way across Australia, participants will connect with Australians in parks, gardens and popular trails. So far, 349 kilometers have been covered.
