Canberra, June 10, 2026. The Australian solidarity community is preparing for the launch, on June 13, 2026, of the fifth edition of the “From Australia to Cuba with Love” campaign, an initiative that since 2022 has mobilized hundreds of friends of Cuba across the country. This project, driven by solidarity organizations, unions, community groups, and activists, combines sporting, cultural, and social activities with the aim of raising funds and strengthening solidarity with the Cuban people.
The 2026 edition marks a special milestone: five years of uninterrupted work, during which the campaign has established itself as one of the most visible and sustained expressions of support for Cuba in Oceania. This year, the initiative also takes on particular significance as it is dedicated to the centenary of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, adding a symbolic and commemorative component to the planned activities. Recent social media posts by the organizers officially announcing the start of this new edition reflect the growing enthusiasm of participants and their commitment to continue strengthening the bonds of friendship between our two peoples.
Throughout its five editions, From Australia to Cuba with Love has promoted activities that celebrate cooperation, solidarity, and cultural exchange, while also highlighting the challenges Cuba faces due to the impact of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States. The campaign has been supported by the Australian solidarity movement with Cuba, as well as numerous volunteers who join the scheduled activities year after year.
On its fifth anniversary, the campaign reaffirms its commitment to building bridges between Australia and Cuba, promoting values of social justice, international cooperation, and mutual support. The organizers invite the Australian community to actively participate in the initiatives that will take place throughout the country starting June 13.
