Kingstown, [April 19, 2026] — In an atmosphere of joy, unity, and a deep sense of belonging, a baseball game was held featuring Cuban residents, collaborators, and members of the Cuban diplomatic mission in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, specially dedicated to the children, teenagers and youth of the Cuban community in this country.
Nearly a hundred compatriots gathered to enjoy this sporting event, which went beyond competition and became a true space for fellowship. On the field, beyond the result, friendship and camaraderie prevailed—values that define the Cuban nation and are strengthened with each gathering of this kind.
The event was marked by a strong spirit of Cubanness and national pride, where different generations of Cubans shared experiences, anecdotes, and their passion for baseball, considered Cuba’s national sport. The younger participants had the opportunity to interact with adults and collaborators, thus reinforcing bonds of identity and belonging.
During the activity, the Cuban Ambassador, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry, recalled that the gathering was also dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the Victory of Playa Girón and highlighted the importance of promoting initiatives like this, which help preserve Cuba’s cultural and sporting traditions abroad while fostering unity and the well-being of the community.
The event concluded in a cheerful atmosphere, reaffirming the commitment to continue creating spaces that strengthen the ties between Cubans residing in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and their country of origin (Embassy of Cuba in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines/Cubaminrex).
