From Belize tribute to National Hero José Martí.

Belize, January 25, 2025.- The members of the Cuban state mission in Belize paid tribute to José Martí on the 172nd anniversary of his birth in Havana, on January 28, 1853.

During the tribute held in the different regions of this sister Central American country, relevant aspects of the life and work of the most universal of Cuban politicians were highlighted, who stood out as a patriot, politician, poet, writer, art critic and thinker.

José Martí was the founder of the Cuban Revolutionary Party created to organize and direct the War of 1895 with the aim of achieving Cuba's independence from Spanish colonialism.

The years lived by Martí in the troubled and brutal north allowed him to foresee and warn about the danger that the United States represented for the peoples of Our America.

Flowers placed on the plaque that perpetuates his memory in the town of Benque Viejo del Carmen, poems, audiovisuals, torches, round tables, exhibitions and different initiatives, were part of the tribute to the apostle of independence.

The occasion was propitious to bid farewell to a group of health collaborators who are concluding their mission in this sister country and to demand the end of the unjust blockade imposed on us by the United States government, as well as the exclusion of Cuba from the list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism.

The commitment to the defense of the Homeland and the need to safeguard its independence and national sovereignty were reiterated. (EmbacubaBelize).
