Belmopan, October 21, 2025.- Cuban Ambassador María Caridad Balaguer Labrada was farewelled at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters as she concludes her diplomatic mission in this sister country.
During the ceremony, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Honorable Francis Fonseca, conveyed Belize's sincere gratitude to the Cuban diplomat for her dedication, friendship, and contribution to promoting cooperation between Belize and Cuba in the areas of health, education, and culture, pillars, he said, of a partnership based on solidarity and mutual respect.
For her part, Ambassador Balaguer Labrada expressed her gratitude for this beautiful gesture and reaffirmed that our countries will continue to be sister countries, based on the principles of solidarity, cooperation, and mutual respect, which have characterized these 30 years of bilateral relations.
Present at the ceremony were the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Amalia Mai, Dr. Perlita Aldana, designated Ambassador of Belize to Cuba, government representatives, the diplomatic corps, as well as a representation of Cuban graduates, friends of solidarity, and healthcare workers.
