Bloomberg TV Mongolia broadcast an interview with the ambassador of Cuba to Mongolia, Jorge Ferrer, on cooperation opportunities and bilateral relations, after Cuba's participation in the Mining Week Forum in October.

The diplomat argued the potential for cooperation, investments and bilateral business in mining, agriculture, livestock, tourism and Cuban biotechnology for human and animal health and for agriculture.

Regarding mining, he highlighted that Cuba is the world's 9th largest nickel producer of and 5th of cobalt and it is home to the world's fifth largest nickel reserve and the fourth largest world cobalt reserves. It is also has the world's largest lead-producing surface mine.

In addition, he referred to biopharmaceuticals such as HeberProt P for the treatment of diabetic foot and bioproducts for agriculture and livestock such as the rodenticide Biorat.

He highlighted the presence of several Cuban biotechnology companies in China, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam and the investments in Cuba by important international firms, including some 16 hotel chains such as Meliá, Iberostar, etc.

He underlined, among other advantages of investing in Cuba, being the biggest Caribbean island and the availability of some idle or underutilized industrial and agricultural facilities that in many cases do not require large investments.

He also mentioned that Cuba also offers several incentives such as exemptions or reductions from corporate tax on investments and reinvestments and import custom duties for technology, equipment and inputs for the investment, among other.
