Pretoria, 1st Octubre.- Representatives of the Embassy of Cuba participated in the launch of the book "Voices from the Underground", the latest historical publication on the anti-apartheid struggle in South Africa.
The book collects testimonies of 18 fighters belonging to a detachment that was part of the armed arm of the African National Congress in the city of Cape Town, as well as experiences of their actions from the underground in the fight against Apartheid.
During his presentation, Shirley Gunn, Chief of that detachment, with emotional words, thanked Cuba for its role in achieving South African independence.
Part of its pages are dedicated to narrating the experiences of its protagonists in Cuba where they received training.
The meeting was attended by senior managers of the South African Communist Party, the Ministry of Defense and Veterans of the fight against Apartheid.
