Celac foreign ministers call for the exclusion of Cuba from the list of countries that sponsor terrorism

On Twitter, the member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, wrote that in that conclave he called "to face, in a cohesive manner, pressing problems faced by the region, the most unequal of the planet; among them, growing levels of poverty and food insecurity, the slowdown of economies and the increase of indebtedness".

He denounced the inclusion of Cuba in the arbitrary list of countries that sponsor terrorism, as well as the rejection of the application of unilateral coercive measures contrary to International Law, including lists and certifications against the nations of the region.

"Cuba will continue to fight tirelessly for the genuine integration of Our America, united in its diversity and guided by the postulates of the Proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace", stressed the Foreign Minister, who also advocated "the strengthening and consolidation of Celac as a regional interlocutor".

Delegations from the 32 Member States participated in the meeting and discussed issues such as economic recovery after COVID-19, the common health strategy, the fight against corruption and food security. They discussed collaboration with extra-regional partners, infrastructure integration, environmental cooperation and improving the situation of women in their countries.
