Celebration of the 173rd anniversary of José Martí's birth
On the occasion of the 173rd anniversary of José Martí's birth, we participated alongside Latin American embassies, the Spanish Embassy's Education Office, the mayor of the town, among others, in a tribute ceremony held at the high school named after him in Bielany, Warsaw.
During the event, the guests highlighted the importance of Martí's teachings in our times, on issues such as education and his call for unity among peoples.
The Cuban ambassador, Ibete Fernández Hernandez, gave a moving speech, using Martí's thinking to show the value of knowledge, of defending what is right, and the great foresight that his devotion to study and understanding the world gave him. Today, Cubans recognize more than ever the relevance of his warnings about imperialism. 173 years after his birth, we are grateful for his legacy and honor him with our steadfast defense of the achievements we have made.
The meeting was an opportunity to continue strengthening relations with the center and to work to promote the thinking and values of the most universal of all Cubans.
