On the occasion of Cuban Culture Day, a series of artistic activities have taken place in London and other British cities, ranging from musical performances to photo exhibitions, which pay tribute to Cuba's identity and cultural heritage. These celebrations will continue until next 20th October.

The most notable events include the concerts offered by pianist and composer Dayramir González in the cities of London and Brighton. With several Cubadisco awards under his belt, Dayramir González is internationally recognized for his interpretation of Afro-Cuban jazz. His show, entitled The Art of the Cuban Piano, showcased a repertoire deeply rooted Cuba's musical tradition and was received with great enthusiasm in various clubs and nightclubs in this nation. Another jazz musician, the talented pianist Elaine Correa, also delighted audiences with her virtuoso performance.

In the city of Bristol, Cuban music was acclaimed during the performance of Indira Román and her band at the Papaya Fest, further enriching the celebration of Cuban culture in Britain.

Freddy Nevison-Andrews, a British photography enthusiast, presented the exhibition Cuba in Colour, which has been another highlight of this day. The exhibition brings together images captured between 2018 and 2024, reflecting a vision of the life and landscapes of the Island.

Finally, one of the most anticipated shows is that of the renowned dancer and dance teacher Damarys Farres, who, together with her school, presents Ashé Expreso, a vibrant event that includes dance workshops and exchanges between amateurs and professionals. The show promises to bring London to life with the best of Afro-Cuban styles, such as rumba and timba. It offers attendees a chance to learn and enjoy the rich tradition of Cuban dance.
