Closing of the Lecture Series on the Helms-Burton Act

Washington, March 25, 2026 — An academic event held at the Embassy of Cuba in Washington brought to a close the lecture series on the Helms-Burton Act, which had been conducted across several universities in the capital on the 30th anniversary of its entry into force.

The event was honored by the participation of attorney Robert Muse, who delivered a lecture on the impact of the law’s implementation, as well as by the presentation of audiovisual material featuring remarks by Cuba’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Carlos Fernández de Cossío Domínguez.

The gathering provided an opportunity to exchange views on the impact of unilateral coercive measures and international law.
