Community health day on the 29th anniversary of Cuba - Belize relations.

Cayo, July 20, 2024.- The village of Roaring Creek in the Cayo District, hosted the community health day as part of the activities in honor of the 29th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Belize.

Cuban and Belizean doctors and nurses, social authorities, supportive friends and neighbors gathered at the Community Center of this town to receive basic medical care.

The Cuban ambassador, María Caridad Balaguer Labrada, opening the day, expressed that for 33 years, Cuban health workers along with their Belizean counterparts have assisted their brothers from this nation in this important sphere, which reaffirms the solidarity nature and humanist of the Cuban Revolution.

For his part, Jervis Banner, president of the Roaring Creek Village Council, thanked the Cuban presence during all these years in the country and highlighted the love and dedication with which the Cuban health personnel serve the Belizean population daily.

Giovanni Duran, master in food sciences, gave an interesting talk about eating and consumption habits and their importance in the quality of life of the population.
Cuba and Belize established diplomatic relations on July 15, 1995, during these 29 years these have been characterized by respect, brotherhood and cooperation.

This day was organized in coordination with the authorities of the Western Regional Hospital, located in the City of Belmopan. (EmbacubaBelize).
