Dublin, June 23, 2026. Comrade Elizabeth Ribalta, an official of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), began a visit to Ireland yesterday. The objectives of her visit are to denounce the situation faced by the Cuban people, victims of the extreme intensification of the U.S. economic, commercial, and financial blockade, and to express gratitude for the solidarity and support received from Ireland.
She began her program with a meeting at "The New Theatre" at the headquarters of the Communist Party of Ireland, where she gave an approximately one-hour interview to Comrade Azzy O'Connor and discussed with participants the difficult reality Cuba is experiencing today due to the energy blockade. She also referred to the efforts being made by the Cuban government and people to maintain, as much as possible, the achievements of the Revolution and to overcome this challenging situation. At the same time, she took the opportunity to thank the Irish people for their unwavering solidarity, particularly as demonstrated during the "Our America Convoy," an event held in Havana last March.
In the afternoon, Elizabeth met at the Embassy with representatives from the board of the Cuban Solidarity Forum (CSFI), thanking them for sending two containers of powdered milk and medical supplies to the Hermanos Amejeiras Hospital and the Cuban healthcare system, and for their general solidarity with the Cuban Revolution.
She also received a large delegation from the youth organization Ográ Sinn Féin at the diplomatic mission, with whom she shared her experiences in Cuba and called for increased solidarity with the Cuban Revolution.
Elizabeth will remain in Ireland until next Friday.
