Comrade Elizabeth Ribalta, ICAP Official, Visits the Irish Parliament

Dublin, June 24, 2026. At the invitation of Senator Chris Andrews, Coordinator of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Cuba, Elizabeth Ribalta, an official with the European Division of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), visited the Irish Parliament this afternoon, where she met with a group of Irish members of parliament and senators.

Elizabeth took the opportunity to present Senator Chris with a letter of greeting from Cuban deputy and Hero of the Republic of Cuba, Fernando González Llort, who chairs the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Ireland in the Cuban parliament.

Likewise, Ribalta explained to the approximately 20 members of parliament the serious situation facing Cuba as a consequence of the U.S. energy embargo. She also denounced the threats of military aggression. In thanking the Irish parliament for its solidarity with her country, she called for urgent action by Irish legislators.

On behalf of those present, Senator Andrews expressed his understanding and unwavering support for the Cuban people in these difficult circumstances.

The Cuban ambassador to Ireland, Bernardo Guanche Hernández, accompanied the ICAP official during her visit to parliament.
