Congratulations to Thea Lafond and the people of Dominica

The Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in the Commonwealth of Dominica would like to extend its congratulations to Thea Lafond and the people of Dominica for their historic win of the first-ever gold medal at a global athletics competition. The competition in question is the World Indoor Athletics Championships held in Glasgow, Scotland, where Lafond excelled in the Women's Triple Jump.

Furthermore, we would like to acknowledge Leyanis Perez Hernandez from Cuba, who won the silver medal at the same championship.

This momentous achievement has made history for both Cuba and Dominica, and both nations can be proud of their athletes' accomplishments.
