Tehran, May 4, 2020. On the occasion of the commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the Iranian newspaper Tehran Times, the Cuban Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Alexis Bandrich Vega sent a congratulatory message in which he congratulates them and urges them to continue deepening in the exercise of the revolutionary prey in favor of the truth. The full text of the message was published by the important Iranian press and is reproduced below:
On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Tehran Times, I have the honor to extend a warm message of congratulations and support to the exercise of the revolutionary press, from a country that, like ours, faces lying campaigns and operations daily, under the joint supervision of the White House, the State Department of the United States of America and its allies, who pursue the futile goal of poisoning our peoples and manipulating world public opinion.
The so-called "press freedom", based on the free market and the private property of the media, constitutes one of the biggest lies of imperialism.
The use of these media and social networks has even led to illegitimate and meaningless wars, in a blatant practice of media terrorism.
In congratulating the Tehran Times, we urge that the revolutionary press continue to show the highest exercise in defense of the truth, the cult of freedom and the full dignity of man.
