An exhibition of photos, posters and various documents on the history of the World Youth and Student Festivals was inaugurated in the well-known Irini (Peace) Ηall on the pedestrian Ledras street in Nicosia, on the initiative of the Υouth Οrganization EDON., Since the first one held in 1947 in Prague, which was the beginning of a series of preparatory events to promote the XIXe edition of this great event for young people and students of the world to be held this year, from 15 to 21 October, in Sochi, Russia, under the motto "For a just world and peoples’ friendship ".
At the inauguration of the exhibition, FMJD President Nicolas Papademetriou said with emotional words: "In spite of the fact that many were convinced that the flame of the World Youth Festivals and Students was extinct and that with the absence of Soviet Union, its realization would be impossible, also in 1997 the 14th World Festival took place "
