Larnaka, December 21, 2023. - The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in Cyprus, Mr. Angel Gustavo Suarez Cordero and the Mayor of the Municipality of Larnaka, Sr. Andreas Vyras signed on December 21, 2023, at the headquarters of the Municipality of Larnaka, a Cooperation Agreement between the Municipality of Larnaka of the Republic of Cyprus and the Provincial Government of Santiago de Cuba of the Republic of Cuba for cultural and economic cooperation.
The Agreement provides to work with the objective of promoting education with cooperation between educational institutions, environmental protection and sustainable development, support for the development of local entrepreneurship, renovation and protection of heritage and sports among others.
Both the Mayor and the Ambassador reaffirmed that this is only the beginning of this cooperation between the peoples of the two countries that will strengthen the existing close ties.
The ceremony for the signing of the memorandum of understanding was also attended by the Heads of the Municipal Council and the Service Officers.
